Induction of Multiple Shoot from Cormel Tip of Gladiolus ´ Spic & Span ´

Abstract

|
|
This study was performed to investigate the effects of medium., culture condition, and culture method on induction of multiple shoot from gladiolus cormel tip. When the pH of MS medium was 5.5, the percentage of shoot formation was high and the degree of root formation was low. The percentage of shoot formation had a tendency to be higher at solid culture than at liquid stationary culture. In solid culture, the percentage of shoot formation was about 80% at 15-25℃ and 38.4% at 30℃. Also, the percentage of shoot formation was 83.3% in the dark. Difference in the percentage of shoot formation by kind of sugars was little. The number of shoot formation was only one at all treatments except for 3.6 at MS medium containing 0.01 ㎎·L^(-1) IAA + 0.1 ㎎·L^(-1) BA. Root formation was inhibited completely at over 0.05 ㎎·L^(-1) BA.
